World Class

Number 8 :Mesut Ozil , the player that impressed me the most during the game.

Those two words above(WORLD CLASS) are enough to describe Germany during their opening game against Australia. Germany won 4-0 but they score could have easily been doubled had they been more clinical in front of goal. Podolski, Klose, Ozil and Cacau scored one goal each in a very exciting game. It was easily the best match of the World Cup so far.

The other matches saw Slovenia edging Algeria in 1-0 in yet another boring encounter while Ghana beat Serbia 1-0. Japan on the other hand hang on to beat Cameroon in a match that seemed to be moving in slow motion. Holland got off to a great start by beating Denmark 2-0 but I was not impressed by Holland's gameplay. They definitely can play much better then they did last night. Finally, defending champions Italy were held to a 1-1 draw by a very strong Paraguay side.

Enough about other teams; Lets talk about Germany now. They were breathtaking at times against Australia. Players like Mesut Ozil and Sami Khedira(who replaced the injured Ballack) were outstanding throughout the match and kept popping into the penalty area. The Australians didn't seem to be able to stop those perfectly timed runs from midfield.20 year old Thomas Muller who who plays for Bayern Munich was also brilliant.

Germany...Full of youth and athleticism are definitely one of the teams to watch out for this year.
